Laveda Featherstone

LaVeda “Veda” Joyce McClendon Featherstone, age 78, a resident of Lewisburg, Tennessee, previously of Eureka Springs, Arkansas, passed away on a beautiful Sunday morning, January 30, 2022, at her daughter’s residence surrounded by her family.

LaVeda was born on January 19, 1944, in Healdton, Oklahoma and was the daughter of the late Finus McClendon and the late Pauline Thompson McClendon. She was raised in Oklahoma and spent most of her life there. She moved to Eureka Springs, Arkansas where she resided for five years. She spent the past seven months at the home of her daughter in Lewisburg, Tennessee. LaVeda previously worked as an auditor for McKinley Properties in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and was also a pharmacy technician. A very selfless and giving person, she was a kind, silly, yet very smart lady who loved her family unconditionally.

She is survived by her daughters, Paula (Kenneth) Underwood of Yukon, OK, Kim (Jim) Underwood of Lewisburg, TN, grandchildren, Jessie (Caleb) Prescott, Josh Underwood, Jamie Wright, Kelly Wright, Jennifer Gay, and eight great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Gary McClendon.

The family will celebrate her life with private services at a later date. Heritage Funeral Home in Columbia, Tennessee is assisting the family with arrangements.
