Mr. Lawrence W. “Larry” Mesnard, age 72, husband of Patty (Box) Mesnard, and a resident of Columbia, Tennessee, passed away Saturday, January 22, 2022, at his residence.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 29, 2022, at 4:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home. Military honors will be provided by the United States Marine Corps. A visitation will also be held on Saturday from 1:00 – 4:00 PM at the funeral home. He will be laid to rest in Middle Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery in Pegram, Tennessee. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Larry was born on October 7, 1949, in Kansas City, Missouri, and spent his youth in Phoenix, Arizona. He moved to Michigan in 1972 to work at General Motors, living in Fenton for thirty-four years and retired from General Motors, Pontiac Truck and Bus after thirty-four years of service. He then moved to Beaverton, Michigan where he lived for ten years, and finally moved to Columbia, Tennessee in 2015 to enjoy the sunshine. Larry was a veteran of the Vietnam War, serving in the United States Marine Corps. He married Patty on August 2, 1975, and together they had three children. Larry enjoyed working outside on his land, but above all, his life was centered around God and his family.
In addition to his wife, Patty of forty-six years, he is survived by his son, John Mesnard of Pontiac, MI, daughters, Sondra Mesnard of Spring Hill, TN, Desiree (Jim) Davis of Spring Hill, TN, brothers, Richard (Lisa) Mesnard of Scottsdale, AZ, Larry (Nancy) Wendel of Kansas City, MO, Jim (Karen) Wendel of Kansas City, MO, grandchildren, Katie (Jordan) Frew, Kim Gearhart, Kyle Gearhart, Adrienne Davis, Lindsay Davis, Alex Davis, Dillon Raymond, Meagan Raymond, Devon Raymond, great grandchildren, Nevaeh Frew, Oliver Frew, Emery Frew, and Amelia Guerrero, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
