Linda Lee Dockins, age 80, died Tuesday, February 22, 2022, at Magnolia Healthcare & Rehabilitation in Columbia, Tennessee after a brief illness.
Born on June 22, 1941, to Lloyd and Dorothy (Kennedy) Woods, Linda was a long-time resident of Byron, Illinois. She was a 1959 graduate of Byron High School. She married David Dockins on October 10, 1959, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Byron. David preceded her in death on October 31, 2012. Linda devoted her life to raising their three children and managing the family household. She worked as a teacher’s aide at Mary Morgan School, as an assistant to Byron’s City Clerk, and on the staff of Byron Bank until 1986. Linda was a parishioner of St. Mary’s for many years and taught CCD there for several years.
Linda is survived by her three children: Dennis of Centerville, Ohio; Pamela, of Spring Hill, Tennessee; and Kimberly (Gary) Rice of Rockford; two grandchildren, Stephen and Michael Dockins; her sister-in-law Virginia Woods; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her brother Steve Woods.
