Linda Grimes Martin

Mrs. Linda Grimes Martin, age 70, wife of Everette Martin Jr., and a resident of Columbia, passed away Tuesday, February 5, 2019 at Maury Regional Medical Center.

A celebration of her life will be held on Friday, February 8, 2019 at 2PM at Heritage Funeral Home with Pastor Rick Points officiating. Burial will follow at Polk Memorial Gardens.

A visitation will be held on Thursday February 7 ^th from 4-8 PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Born January 13, 1949 in Davidson County, Linda is the daughter of the late Hildreth Daniel Grimes and Mary Hazel Johnson Grimes. She was a faithful member of Williamsport Baptist Church.

Linda loved listening to music and dancing, but nothing was more important to her than her family. A devoted wife of over 50 years, Linda often said, “I have loved Jr. since I was 13 years old.” The love she had for her children and grandchildren was immeasurable, as she doted on them constantly and filled the home with memories in photos. She is known for her great sense of humor and love of laughter, especially if she gave you a good scare. More than a lifetime of memories have been bestowed upon this family and all who were blessed to know her.

In addition to her husband, Everette Martin Jr, she leaves behind to cherish her memory her sons: Scott (Trish) Martin and Jason (James) Martin. Daughters: Angel Martin Rogers and Amber Martin Smith. Grand children: Ashton, Cody and Alex; Siblings: Mary Jo Pedigo of Columbia, TN, James (Donna) Grimes of Crossville, TN, Derl (Jan) Grimes of Melbourne, FL, Barbara Hodge of Columbia, TN, Hilda Hunnicutt of Clearwater, FL, Tony (Jenny) Grimes of Franklin, TN and Catherine (Robert) Warf of Columbia, TN; 22 nieces and nephews and a heap of great nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister Delores Ellis and her brother Danny Grimes.

Pallbearers will be Steve Rogers, Kip Lindsey, Todd Prince, William “Scooter” Ellis, Daniel Ellis, Allen Lancaster, Tyler Lancaster, and Brandon Lee.
