Linda Ann Tomlin

Linda Ann Tomlin, age 76, a resident of Columbia, passed away Thursday, May 26, 2022, at NHC Columbia.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, May 29, 2022, at 3:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home with Rick Points officiating. A visitation will also be held on Sunday from 2:00 – 3:00 PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Born on December 15, 1945, in Giles County, Linda was the daughter of the late Mahlon Hickman and the late Katherine Reeves Hickman. She was a graduate of Columbia Central High School and worked many years as a management consultant for George S. May International. She also worked several years in retail sales at Peebles and Bed Bath and Beyond. Linda was a Girl Scout Leader and Cookie Chairman for numerous years. She could brighten anyone’s day with her witty sense of humor. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, and taking care of others. Above all, she loved her family and will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her daughter, Terri Jo (Kevin) Boyd of Columbia, grandchildren, Elizabeth (Jerid) Metcalf of Lenoir City, Dareain Baker (D’Monte Martin) of Columbia, Zachary Baker of Columbia, great grandchildren, Emma Metcalf, Addyson Martin, Ansleigh Martin, aunt, Jewell Crockett, daughter in law, Stephanie Baker, and several nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Jeffrey Darrell Baker on March 14, 2022, brother, Sammy Hickman, and sister in law, Shirley Hickman.

The family would like to extend a very special thanks to the doctors, nurses, and staff at NHC Columbia for their excellent care and compassion for Linda.
