Linda Faye Wray

Linda Faye Sonnier Wray, age 65, resident of Columbia, passed away on Monday, April 12, 2021 at Alive Hospice in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 17 th at 2:00 pm at Parkway Baptist Church.  Mike Roberts and Enoch George will be officiating.  Entombment will follow in Maury Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.  The family will receive friends on Friday, April 16 th from 4:00 until 8:00 pm at the church.  Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Linda was born September 5, 1955 in Lake Charles, Louisiana.  She was the daughter of the late Watson Sonnier and late Christine Grooms.  She attended Central High School.  She began her long career at the Maury County Sherriff ‘s Department by volunteering her time in the late 90’s.  She offered her time alongside her husband Jeff David Wray who was a reserve deputy, and who later became a deputy.  She was then hired as a clerk and worked her way up the ladder.  She retired as office manager in 2015.  She enjoyed drives in her convertible, going to the beach and spoiling her grandchildren.  She lived a life full of compassion and a love for the Lord.

Linda is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Jeff David Wray of Columbia; Children: Jeff (Missy) Wray, Randall Wray, Donny (Lindsey) Wray, Trent (Cherie) Wray; Grandchildren: Steven (Shania) Wray, Amber Wray, Anna Wray, Noah Wray, Zachary Wray, Marshall Wray, Jackson (Ava) Wray, Anderson Wray, Peyton (Christina) Wray, Haley Wray, and Challi Wray; Siblings: Glenda Knight, Bertha Parkhurst, Norman (Vicky) Sonnier, Janice (Bobby) Henderson, Rhonda Campbell, Sherry White (Albert Wilson), Amy (Shane) Whitt, and Donna (Jeff) Arnold; and special friends: Enoch and Phyllis George, Ashley and Paulette Brown, and Marsha McClintock.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her Brother in laws: Dr. Robert Knight, Robert Tosh, Bill Wray, and Paul Wray; Sister-in-law: Fran Tosh; Nephews:  Paul Wray Jr and Ryan Wray; and special friend: Terri Thompson.

Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.  Honorary pallbearers will be all the past and present employees of the Maury County Sherriff’s Department.

The family requests memorial donations be made to Parkway Baptist Church Building Fund, 1500 Tom J. Hitch Parkway, Columbia, TN 38401.
