Louise Lanius

Mrs. Mary Louise Bell Lanius, age 86, former owner of All That Jazz dress shop in Columbia, and a resident of Columbia passed away peacefully on Monday, April 1, 2019 at Harbor Chase in Sarasota Florida.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, April 5, 2019 at 2pm in the chapel of Heritage Funeral Home with Rev.Angy Trimmer officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends on Friday from 12pm until the 2pm service hour. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Mary Louise Bell Lanius was born November 26, 1932 in Maury County, TN and was the daughter of the late Thomas F. Bell and late Alice Bell. She lived a very active life raising a family and working. She started her career at Southern Bell and later worked as a bookkeeper and receptionist for Dr. Robert Wilhite, Sr. She was one of the first certified method analyst for the State of Tennessee and worked at Maury County Hospital. In 1984, she opened “All That Jazz,” a specialty dress boutique for ladies. She helped her customers find just the perfect outfit they needed for any occasion. She loved working in her yard and growing philodendrons. Louise and her late husband Paul were very active in her church Craft Memorial Methodist.

She is survived by her children: Linda M. (Dan) Ploger of Sarasota, FL, Paul Fisher (Anita) Lanius, III of Auburndale, FL; grandchildren: Jennifer Lanius of Tullahoma, TN, Ryan (Nancy) Ploger of Bradenton, FL, and Troy (Nicole) Ploger of St Pete, FL; and three great grandchildren: Lillian, Lyla, and Olivia.

Along with her parents and husband, Paul F. Lanius, Jr., she was preceded in death by her brother: Rev. Bob Bell; sister: Betty Bell Keating; and grandson: James H. Presson.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
