Mrs. Margaret Rose Jackson, age 89, wife of Gordon Jackson and a resident of Spring Hill, previously of Columbia, passed away Thursday evening, June 25, 2020 at Traditions of Spring Hill.
A funeral service will be held on Sunday, June 28, 2020 at 2PM at Heritage Funeral Home with Rick Points officiating. Burial will follow in the Garden of Promise in Maury Memorial Gardens. A visitation will be held on Saturday, June 27, 2020 from 3-6PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Born on November 25, 1930 in Shelbyville, Margaret was the daughter of the late Sam Deason and the late Minnie Dushane Deason. She married Gordon Jackson in October of 1950 and together they had two children. She worked twenty-five years in children services for the State of Tennessee before retiring in 1993. She and her husband loved traveling. Together they traveled outside of the country and visited all fifty states. She also enjoyed gardening and bird watching. Margaret was an exceptional person who loved everybody, and everybody loved her. She was of the Methodist faith.
In addition to her husband, Gordon of sixty-nine years, she is survived by her sons: Gordon Jackson, Jr. of Indiana; Thomas “T.J.” (Teresa) Jackson of Spring Hill; brother, Sam (Mary) Deason, Jr. of Madison; grandchildren: Jennifer (David) York, William Brandon (Stacey) Jackson, Melissa (John) Myers, Victoria Jackson; granddaughter in law, Tanya Jackson; great grandchildren: Lauren York, Ryan Jackson, Rhiannon Jackson, Will Jackson, Cooper Jackson, Colton Myers, Weston Myers, Trey Williams; sister in law, Martha Deason; brother in law, Wayne Jackson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandson, Thomas Nathan Jackson; brothers: Johnny Deason and Jimmy Deason; and sisters in law: Betty Deason and Brenda Jackson.
Pallbearers will be: Brandon Jackson, Will Jackson, Jimmy Jackson, Daryll Deason, David York, John Irby; and Honorary Pallbearer: Cooper Jackson.
