Margaret "Peggy" Ortt

Margaret “Peggy” Martha Vince Ortt, age 100, passed away on February 28 th at The Gardens, Poplar Estates in Columbia, TN.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 7, 2019 at 9:30 AM at Heritage Funeral Home with Father Tom Weise officiating. Burial will be held on Thursday at 11AM at Middle Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery in Pegram, TN. A visitation will also be held on Thursday from 9:00 - 9:30 AM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Born on December 8, 1918 in New Jersey, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Anna Bukczar Vince and wife of the late Roswell Ortt who passed away in March of 2017. Peggy was raised on a beloved farm in Vera Cruz, PA. A long-time resident of Emmaus, PA and employee of Emmaus Manufacturing, she retired from Genesco Corporation in Allentown, PA in 1982 and moved to Tennessee for a short time and then to Spring Hill, FL for twenty-nine years.

She was a loving mother, great cook, loved to play pinochle and was a joy to be around.

In addition to her husband of seventy-four years, she was preceded in death by her siblings: Mary Miller, Elizabeth Gallina, Ann Andrasek, Helen Lagnena, Stella Rose Haas, Frank Vince; and daughter in law: Madge Ortt.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her son: Bryant Ortt of Billings, MT; daughter: Vivian Hardison of Belfast, TN; granddaughters: Michelle Rock of San Jose, Ca, Bridgette Walsh of Lewisburg, TN, Jessica Bartling of Cary, NC; grandson: Dan Ortt of Missoula, MT; great grandchildren: Sarah and Jake Blasingim, Naomi and Matthew Rock, Ryland and Aidan Ortt, Paxton and Cooper Bartling; sister: Irene Lipositz; and several nieces and nephews.
