Margie was born on December 26, 1934, in Maury County, the beloved daughter of the late Claude Potts and Lola Kelly Potts. A faithful member of New Life Baptist Church, she also dedicated her time to teaching Sunday school in years past. Margie's love for basketball during her school days was only matched by her passion for attending dirt track races and trips to Tunica. She was an avid football enthusiast, with a special affection for the Tennessee Vols. Above all, Margie cherished her family, always eager to accompany her grandkids wherever they wanted to go. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Margie is survived by her loving children: Anita King of Theta, Freddie (Charlene) Lancaster of Theta, and Reta “Ricky” (Carl) Hutcherson of Water Valley; dear brother, Billy (Sandra) Potts of Culleoka; sister, Linda (Mike) Wall of Knob Creek; devoted grandchildren, Scotty (Lisa) Dial, Shena (Coty) Speck, Kelly (Stacey) Batey, Alissa (Booger) Hall, Gerri (Matthew) Judd, Luke (Anisha) Jones, and Carl “BooBoo” Hutcherson; cherished great-grandchildren, Hunter Jones, Hailey Jones, Hope Jones, Hannah Jones, Maddy Pullum, Lacey Batey, Case O’Field, Brody O’Field, Karsen Judd, Maggie Speck, and Shelby Dial; and special friends, Carolyn Oakley, and Keith and Debbie Baker.
