Christine Hunter

Marion "Christine" Church Hunter, age 95, passed away on June 26, 2024 surrounded by loved ones at Morning Pointe in Spring Hill. Visitation with the family will be Monday, July 1, from 4:00 – 7:00 pm, at Heritage Funeral Home in Columbia.  A funeral service will be held Tuesday, July 2 at 11 am at Heritage Funeral Home with Clay Gentry and Derek Hunter officiating.  Following the service, Christine will be laid to rest in Spring Hill Memorial Gardens with grandsons, Shane Hunter, Matt Hunter, Derek Hunter and great grandsons, Hunter Thomas, Wesley Bartlett and Braxton Hunter serving as pallbearers.

Christine was born on March 16, 1929 in Williamson County, Tennessee to the late Elmer and Beulah Church.  Her family was a tight-knit group of 3 sisters and 2 brothers.  She met her husband, Willis A. Hunter, Jr. "W.A." at church.  They spent 70 years together, W.A. predeceased her in 2018.

Christine had many hobbies, including traveling, putting together jigsaw puzzles, cooking, and gardening. She had a deep faith in God and was a staple in her church family at Lanton Church of Christ and Jackson Heights Church of Christ.

She spent the last five years of her life at Morning Pointe Assisted Living in Spring Hill, where she was a beloved member, both by the staff and the residents she came in contact with, either by playing Rummikub or having lunch.

She is survived by her sisters, Mai McCrory and Adelle Jenkins,  sons, Dexter (Linda) Hunter, Dan (Sheila) Hunter, and daughter, Carolyn (Wayne) Bolin, grandchildren Shane, Derek, Larissa, Matt, Heather, and Amber, 12  great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sister, Cleo Edwards, and brothers, George Church and Leon Church.

Christine passed peacefully into the loving arms of her Savior, Jesus Christ, but will be deeply missed by those that remain behind, we look forward to the day we meet again.
