Marlena Candace Johnson Rainey, age 29, a resident of Columbia, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, March 9, 2022.

A funeral service will be held on Sunday, March 13, 2022, at 5:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home. A visitation will also be held on Sunday from 3:00 – 5:00 PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Born on June 5, 1992, in St. Joseph, Michigan, Marlena was the daughter of Kathy Truman Johnson and the late Walter Richard Johnson. She was a 2010 graduate of Santa Fe School and married Lance Rainey on September 29, 2019. Marlena previously worked as a salesman for Carmax, as a clerk for Toyota, and HR for Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram. She also worked for American Addiction Center and was most recently working as a banker for Wells Fargo. She enjoyed painting, playing RuneScape, scootering, and tending to her plants. She had a special love for her beloved dog, Piglet.

In addition to her husband and mother, she is survived by her brother, Mark Johnson of Santa Fe, mother-in-law, Angel Rainey of Columbia, and devoted friends, Orion Greer and Adam Hargrove.

Along with her father, she was preceded in death by her father-in-law, Steve Brown, and grandmother, Rachel Quirk Truman.
