Marvin Junior Emler, 64, of Summertown, passed away on March 6, 2024, at Maury Regional Medical Center.

A funeral service to celebrate Marvin's life will be held on Sunday, March 10th, at 2:00 pm at Heritage Funeral Home, with Alan Lancaster officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm until the 2:00 pm service hour at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Marvin was born on October 01, 1959, in Hickman County, Tennessee, to the late Olander Cohn Emler and the late Ruby Pauline Skipper Emler. He graduated high school and dedicated 16 years of service to the City of Columbia. Known as a jokester, Marvin had a talent for making people laugh. He found joy in tinkering with small engines and lawn mowers and held a deep appreciation for old cars, particularly those of the Ford variety. Above all, Marvin was a loving man whose absence will be keenly felt by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

He is survived by his loving fiancé, Carolyn Himes; daughter, Jessica (Chris) Bell of Hampshire; step-daughter, Charity Baker of Columbia; step-sons, Chad (Anita) Himes and Adam (Lacey) Himes, both of Lawrenceburg; brother, Charles Robert Emler of Columbia; sisters, Thelma Joe Coffee of Red Bluff, CA, Wanda Jean Carter of Columbia, and Ayala Faye (Albert) Williams of Centerville; grandchildren, Kanya (Tyler) Crain, Breanna (Dusty) Dawes, C.J. Baker, Courtney Crane, Lila Himes, Alyssa Himes, Briar Himes, Sarah Bell, Ethan Bell, and Christopher Bell; great-grandchildren, Mason and Jaxson Crain, and Brylee, Braxton, and Brynlee Dawes; mother of his daughter, Kathy Emler of Columbia; and his fur babies, Rosey, Sassy, and Keeley.

In addition to his parents, Marvin was preceded in death by his sister, Brenda Gayle; son-in-law, Rocky Baker; and brothers-in-law, Smitty Carter, Charles Coffee, and Lawman F. Palmer, Jr.
