Mary Miner Bailey, age 73, a resident of Mt. Pleasant, passed away Tuesday, September 3, 2019 at Maury Regional Medical Center.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 7, 2019 at 11AM at Heritage Funeral Home with Rick Points officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens. A visitation will be held on Friday, September 6, 2019 from 4-7PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Born on November 25, 1945 in Maury County, Mary was the daughter of the late George William Miner and the late Margaret Louise Clayton Miner. She lived many years with her aunt and uncle, Richard & Jean Workman. She was a graduate of Haylong Highschool and worked many years as a sales associate for K-Mart. Mary lived in Korea in 1988 where she volunteered in the Seoul Olympics. She was strong in her relationship with her Lord Jesus Christ and quick to let others know that. A loving wife, Mary took care of husband, James, for many years when he was in the nursing home. She will be missed by those who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her son, Patrick Keltner of Mt. Pleasant; daughter, Melissa (Jerry Miller) Laby of Johnson City; siblings: Lois Hensley of Knoxville, Frank Matthews of Michigan; grandchildren: Danial, Rachel and Michael Keltner, Joshua, Jessica and Jillian Laby; great grandchildren: Conner Bennette, Jerimiah Barnette, and Xander Laby; and a host of other loving extended family members.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Bailey; son, Tim Keltner; sister, Christine Powers; loving uncle, Richard Workman; and aunt, Jean Clayton Workman.
Pallbearers will be: Pat Keltner, Raymond Workman, Michael Workman, Todd Gilliam, Clay Gilliam, Andrew Gilliam, Roger Gilliam and Frank Matthews.
Honorary pallbearers will include: Chuck & Kay May, Lois Hensley, and Shirley Matthews.
The immediate family would like to extend a special thanks to family members, Sheila Gilliam and Raymond Workman, for their love, care and compassion for Mary over the years .
