Mary Whitehead Barnes

Mary Whitehead Barnes, age 64, beloved wife of Terrell C. Barnes, and a resident of Ethridge, Tennessee, passed away on Sunday, April 21, 2024, at Maury Regional Medical Center.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 24, 2024, from 2:00 – 4:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Born on March 31, 1960, in Maury County, Tennessee, Mary was the daughter of the late Clifford Whitehead and the late Flora Mae Simmons Whitehead. She dedicated many years to her work, serving diligently in housekeeping at Richland Inn in Columbia, and later contributing her efforts for nearly two years at Countryside Health and Rehabilitation Center in Lawrenceburg. She married Terrell Barnes on November 1, 2008, and she was always by his side while he worked on any project. Mary found joy in working puzzles and listening to country music. She was a very giving person who loved her family unconditionally.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Robert Thornton of Mt. Pleasant, TN, Clifford Thornton of Shelbyville, TN, Rose Thornton of Lewisburg, TN, Misty Thornton of Lawrenceburg, TN, Flora May (Robert) Brewer of Lawrenceburg, TN, brothers, Robert (Cindy) Whitehead of Portland, TN, Randy (Michelle) Whitehead of Lewisburg, TN, David Thompson of Texas, sisters, Sheila King of Lewisburg, TN, Mary Sue (Gerald) Greggs of Lewisburg, TN, Sandy Collins of Culleoka, TN, Barbara Graham of Columbia, TN, seventeen grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Edward Thompson and David Whitehead.
