Mary F. Hall

Mary Francis Hall, age 87, a resident of Columbia, passed away Tuesday, November 6, 2018 at Magnolia Healthcare.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 9 ^th at 11am at Heritage Funeral Home with Pastor Rick Points officiating.  Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery.  The family will visit with friends on Thursday from 4-7pm at the funeral home.  Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Francis was born in Williamson County on June 14, 1931 and was the daughter of the late Lafayett Franklin Gowan and the late Martha Elizabeth Tomlin Gowan. She previously worked as the department head at Peebles Department Store where she eventually retired. She was of the Baptist faith. Francis enjoyed collecting dolls and musical angels and loved working in her flower garden. A very giving and loving person, she would do anything for anyone. Above all, she loved her family and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her son: Ray Hall of Columbia; brothers: Billy (Barbara) Gowan, James Harry Gowan, and George Larry Gowan, all of Columbia; several nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband: Volter Ray Hall; brothers: Charles, Sam, and Fred Gowan; and sisters: Barbara Schrimsher and Ruth Hill.

Pallbearers will be Kenneth Gowan, Lee Gowan, Tony Sullivan, Jeff Hill, Christopher Hill, James Hill, and Jacob Matthews.

Honorary pallbearers will include: Wendall Dotson, Kevin Dotson, Tammie Hill, and Crystal Hill.
