Mary Jane Manning

Mary Jane Manning, age 86, a resident of Columbia, passed away Thursday evening, April 2, 2020 at Williamson Medical Center.

The family will celebrate her life with a memorial service at a later date. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Born on October 31, 1933 in Stuart, Iowa, Mary Jane was the daughter of the late Orvall Christian and the late Georgia Barkolow Davis. She worked as a dietician for Memorial Hospital in Santa Rosa, California for thirty-five years before retiring in 1998. She was an avid San Francisco Giants, Tennessee Titans, and San Francisco 49’ers fan. Mary Jane loved going to horse races and visiting the Senior Center. She was a member of the National Rifle Association. Mary Jane loved her beloved dog, Bell and above all, loved her family and will be extremely missed.

She was survived by her daughter, Donna (Mark) Adair of Columbia; brother, Gerald Christian of California; sister, Anna (Stan) Smith of California; grandchildren: Marisha (Jose) Martinez, Melissa Lessard, Tarah Manning, Mackenzie Valencia, Aleesha Tamblin, Katie Towery; and many great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sons, Alan Manning and Gary Manning.
