Mary D. Matz of Lawrenceburg, Tennessee

February 8, 1940 - December 20, 2018

Mary D. Matz, age 78, a resident of Lawrenceburg, passed away Wednesday, December 20, 2018 at NHC Lawrenceburg.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday at 2PM at Salem Church of Christ in Lawrenceburg with Bro. Keith Barnett officiating. Burial will follow at OK Baptist Church Cemetery. A visitation will also be held on Saturday from 12-2PM at the church. Heritage Funeral Home in Columbia is assisting the family with arrangements.

Born on February 8, 1940 in Lawrence County, Mary was the daughter of the late Dan Dryden and the late Grace Rose Dryden. She was a member of Salem Church of Christ and was a previous long time employee of Murray Ohio. She most recently worked as a security guard for Crockett Hospital, Pilkington, and Modene Manufacturing before retiring. One of her biggest hobbies was photography. She also loved leather craft and in her younger years enjoyed horseback riding.

Mary is survived by her son: Ricky (Suzanne) Fleeman of Lawrenceburg, TN; daughters: Lynn (Greg) Romsdal of Staunton, VA, Brenda (David) Zubler of Knoxville, TN, Linda Fleeman of Columbia, TN; sister Marjorie (Duane) Johnson of Polk, NE; eleven grandchildren; and eighteen great grandchildren.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Bill Matz; son: Alan Richardson; grandson: Nick Fleeman; and brothers: David, Thomas, and Lamar Dryden.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
