Mary Lee Platt

Mary Lee Platt, age 80, a resident of Mt. Pleasant, passed away Saturday, June 12, 2021, at her residence.

The family will celebrate her life with private services at a later date. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Born on June 3, 1941, in Monroe, Michigan, Mary was the daughter of the late Forrester Ellison and the late Gladys Davis Ellison. She worked twenty-four years as a nurse’s aid before retiring. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who enjoyed quilting and playing BINGO.

She is survived by her daughters, Sandra Nielsen of Mt. Pleasant, TN, Sherry Stemple of Columbia, TN, son, David (Rachel) Platt of Washington Heights, MI, brothers, Charles Ellison, William (Betsy) Ellison, sisters, Betty Johnson, Juanita Tezak, Sharon Schmelz, Loretta (Keith) Russeau, eleven grandchildren, and six great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas George Platt, and siblings, Curtis Ellison, James Ellison, Robert Ellison, Raymond Ellison, and Shirley Eileen Ellison.
