Mrs. Mary Elizabeth (Webb) Turner, age 88, widow of James Paul Turner, and a resident of Columbia, Tennessee, passed away Saturday, May 7, 2022, at Life Care of Columbia, surrounded by her loving family.
A funeral service for Mrs. Turner will be held on Wednesday, May 11, 2022, at 11:00 AM at Parkway Baptist Church with Tommy Goetz, Brother Danny Jones and Brother Mike Roberts officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens. A visitation will also be held on Tuesday from 4:00 – 8:00 PM at Parkway Baptist Church in Columbia. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Born on August 3, 1933, in Marshall County, Tennessee, Mrs. Turner was the daughter of the late Walter Preston Webb and the late Lena (Crain) Webb. Earlier in her life, she worked as an inspector for Creekwood Manufacturing. A faithful member of Parkway Baptist Church, she nurtured everyone in need and loved taking care of children. Caring and “loving on people” was a big part of her life. According to her family, she made the very best banana pudding. Mrs. Turner also enjoyed growing bountiful flowers and others would stop by to enjoy the beauty she had accomplished.
Mrs. Turner’s survivors include her daughters, Sandra (Tommy) Goetz and Shirley (Barry) McKissick; son, Dan (Tammie) Lovett, stepsons, Tim (Dawn) Turner, Charlie Lovett, and Jimmy Lovett; grandchildren, Thomas (Lindsey) Goetz, Justin (Stephanie) Goetz, Christopher (Olivia) Lovett, Kayla (Anthony) Walker; great grandchildren, Adasyn Goetz, Brooklynn Goetz, Charlotte Goetz, Tristan Goetz, Savannah Goetz, Kinley Goetz, Brooks Lovett, and Cason Lovett; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Ruby Dawson and Brenda Dupree.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sister, Sue Jett, brothers, James Claude Webb and Walter Thomas Webb and stepsons, James Paul Webb, Jr. and Bobby Lovett.
Pallbearers will include Justin Goetz, Thomas Goetz, Christopher Lovett, Mark Jett, Robbie Blackwell and Anthony Blackwell.
