Max Westmoreland

September 9, 1946 — July 19, 2024

Max Earl Westmoreland, age 77, resident of Columbia, passed away on Friday, July 19, 2024, at Maury Regional Medical Center.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, July 22 at 1:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home with Bro. Earl Davis and Charlie Norman officiating. The family will visit with friends on Monday from 12:00 PM until the 1:00 PM service hour, burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens, with military honors provided by the Herbert Griffin American Legion Post 19. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Max was born in Columbia, Tennessee and was the son of the late Robert and Mary Jeline Westmoreland.  He was a graduate of Columbia Central High School and Cumberland University. Max married his best friend and love of his life, Linda Westmoreland, on June 1, 1966. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. Max was one of the most humble persons you could have known, he had a true servants heart, kind and gentle. Max and Linda were founding members of the Spring Hill High School Raiderbackers. He loved football and was an avid Titans and Vols fan. He loved serving his community and was the President of the Spring Hill Lions Club numerous times, he was currently serving as President of the Spring Hill Lions Club. He was a hard worker and never complained about working, he rolled up his sleeves and got the job done. He took pride in having an immaculate lawn. He proudly served his country in the United States Army National Guard for 22 years before retiring. He also retired from General Electric after thirty years of service. He enjoyed hunting with his grandson, Maxwell. He was a member of the Neapolis United Methodist Church.

Along with his wife he is survived by his daughters; Christi (John) Beck and MaryBeth (David) Cloud; grandchildren: Lauren (Chancz) McGee, Maxwell Beck, Kara Freeman, and Kamryn Freeman; great grandchildren, Lawson McGee and LucyKate McGee; and his sister, Debbie (Jimmy) Turner.

Pallbearers will be John Beck, David Cloud, Maxwell Beck, Chancz McGee, Jason Beck, and Jimmy Turner. Honorary pallbearers will include his DooDads family, members of the Spring Hill Lions Club, and Members of Neapolis United Methodist Church.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Shirley King.

Donations can be made to the Spring Hill Lions Club and Neapolis United Methodist Church.
