Maynelle Witherspoon Walker, age 89, a resident of Bear Creek Pike in Columbia, passed away Sunday, August 4, 2019.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 7, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Heritage Funeral Home with Pastor James Norton, Judge Bobby Sands, and Keith Baker officiating. Burial will follow in Maury Memorial Gardens. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 6, 2019 from 4:00 -7:00 PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
A native of Columbia, Maynelle was born on March 15, 1930 and was the daughter of the late William Walter Witherspoon and the late Irene Seat Witherspoon. She worked for Burt Brother’s Furniture and many years in the business office at Maury Regional Medical Center before retiring. Maynelle was a member of Riverside United Methodist Church. She was very active in the Tennessee Farm Bureau Volunteer Women’s Group and a member of the Red Hat’s Out-To-Lunch Group. She loved visiting and going out to dinner with others and years ago enjoyed antiquing, sewing, gardening and beautifying old wood. Maynelle was the sweetest and most loving person who dearly loved her family and will be missed by those who knew her.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her grandchildren: Wesley Walker of Culleoka, Stephanie Lynn Walker of Culleoka, Angie Baker (Jeff) Roberts of Columbia, Jeremy (Ashlee) Baker of Thompsons Station, Brooke Baker (Travis) Hensley of Columbia; great grandchildren: Carrington Walker, Ella Rae Walker, Chance Rosson, Ansley Roberts, Remington Roberts, Ritzston Roberts, Riley Baker, Endsley Baker, Kelton Baker, Raegan Hensley, Baker Hensley, George Hensley, and Audria Hensley; daughter in law: Vicki Walker of Culleoka; and nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sons: Anthony Arden Walker, William Jeffrey Walker; and brothers: William Walter Witherspoon, Jr., Billy Witherspoon, and W. F. Witherspoon.
Pallbearers will be: Walter Witherspoon, Wesley Walker, Chance Rosson, Jeremy Baker, Jeff Roberts, Travis Hensley, Larry Sewell, and Marion Davis.
Honorary pallbearers will include: her friends at Riverside United Methodist Church, residents of Walker Village, the Tennessee Farm Bureau volunteer women, Sandy Baker, Vicki Walker, Mark Goats, Linda Mabry, Tony Endsley, Phyllis George, Charlie Lewis, Jimmy Guthrie, Andy Jackson, Van Boshers, Pauline Davis, Ann Bryant, Donny & Margie Walters, Judge Bobby & Beth Sands, and Jim & Sue Webb.
