Nellie Sowell Turpin Pullen, age 82, wife of Everette Pullen, and a resident of Fred White Road in Columbia, passed away Saturday, March 20, 2021 at NHC Lewisburg.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 23, 2021 at 10:00 AM at Heritage Funeral Home with Phil Mash and Randy Fox officiating. Burial will follow in Philadelphia Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Monday, March 22, 2021 from 4:00 – 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
A native of Maury County, Nellie was born on March 4, 1939 and was the daughter of the late Ross Turpin and the late Sarah Irvin Turpin. She married Everette Pullen on December 10, 1961. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, and taking pictures. Nellie loved animals, being outdoors, and tending to her flowers. Above all, she loved her family and spending time with her grandchildren. She was a believer in Jesus Christ and strived to live a Godly life.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son, Everette Ross (Connie) Pullen of Columbia; sister, Jennie Lee Fox of Spring Hill; grandchildren: Brandie (Phil) Mash of Williamsport, Dakota Ross Pullen of Columbia; great grandchildren: Mason Mash, Parker Mash; special nieces: Edith Watkins, Mary Weldon, Carrie Thomas; and several nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her stepmother, Wanda Turpin; brothers: JB Turpin, Leslie Turpin, Don Ring; and sister, Betty Lou Rubert.
Pallbearers will be: David Pullen, Dakota Pullen, Michael Weldon, Curtis Slayton, Mason Mash, and Lee Roy Fox. Honorary pallbearers will include the staff of NHC Lewisburg.
