Norman Edward Orton of Ethridge, Tennessee

June 19, 1934 - December 20, 2020

Mr. Norman Edward Orton, age 86, died Sunday, December 20, 2020 at his home in Ethridge, Tennessee.

He was born on June 19, 1934 to Paul and Myrtle Thompson Orton of Deerfield. Norman loved to work; he was a carpenter, mechanic, and salesman and owned and operated Orton Floor Covering and Norman’s Auto Sales. He loved the Lord, and was a loving husband to his wife, Linda Johns Orton, for thirty-nine years.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Michael (Debbie) Orton of Lawrenceburg; daughters: Saundra Orton of LaGrange, GA and Kim (Bill) Byars of Carrollton, GA; step daughter, Melissa (Gary) Oglesby of Toney, AL; and stepson, Randy (Kelly) Southall of Lawrenceburg.

His surviving siblings are: Louise Martin of Lawrenceburg, Nell Jones of Marietta, GA, Dr. Joel Orton of Pulaski, and Rual Orton of Lawrenceburg.

Norman’s grandchildren are: Maleah Orton, Kera (Libby) Krolikowski, Kandice Bentley, and Kyle Orton all of LaGrange, GA and Miles Byars and Jada Byars both of Carrollton, GA.

Step grandchildren include: Hunter (Julia) Freemont of Goodlettsville, Kara (Brandon) Johnson of Loretto, and Kelsy (David) Harrell of Havelock, NC; and several great grandchildren and step great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Vicky Braman; granddaughter, Amanda Orton; and sister, Dean Richmond.

A private family celebration of life will be held. Heritage Funeral Home in Columbia is assisting the family.
