Patricia Raye Potts

Mrs. Patricia Raye Potts, age 69, wife of Jerry Clay Potts, and a resident of Santa Fe, passed away Sunday, March 1, 2020 at Magnolia Healthcare& Rehabilitation Center.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 5, 2020 at 2PM at Heritage Funeral Home with Roger Humphrey officiating. Burial will follow in Johnsons Chapel Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 4, 2020 from 4-8PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Patricia was born in Ottumwa, Iowa on April 23, 1950 and was the daughter of the late Ben Miller Turner and the late Marian Louise Wickes Beggs. She married Jerry Clay Potts on March 24, 1979. Patricia enjoyed the outdoors including camping, fishing, landscaping, gardening, and birdwatching. She also loved doing crafts, cooking, and genealogy research.

In addition to her husband she is survived by her sons: James “Jim” Henry (April) Scott of Mt. Pleasant, John Paul Scott of Santa Fe, and Timothy Brian (Virginia) Potts of Lyles; daughter: Rebecca “Becky” Lee Potts of Columbia; brothers: Roy Delano (Becky) Turner of Iowa, Mitchel Wayne (Sandy) Turner of Iowa, and Timothy Andrew (Lisa) Turner of Missouri; sisters: Laura Lee (Mark) Beggs of Iowa and Tamson Alvica Troyer of Iowa; grandchildren: Melissa Travis, Britinii Scott, Kristen Poteete, Taylor Scott, Elizabeth Bytwerk, Sara Bytwerk, Savannah Scott, Dillon Scott, Christian Bytwerk, Adam Gossett, Jason Gossett, Jessie Gossett, Abel Scott, Kelly Scott; and four great grandchildren.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers: Bruce Leland Turner, Arron Dale Turner, Ben Miller Turner, Jr., and Douglas Earl Turner.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
