Patricia Jean McCullom Smithson

Patricia Jean McCullom Smithson, age 75, a resident of Columbia, Tennessee, passed away on Thursday, February 13, 2025, just two days shy of her 76th birthday. 

Born on February 15, 1949, in Columbia, Tennessee, Patricia was the daughter of the late Sam Hallis McCullom and the late Mary Dorothy Hyle McCullom. A graduate of Columbia Central High, she dedicated her life to caring for others as a devoted homemaker. In 1969, she married Larry Daniel Smithson, who preceded her in death in 1974.

Patricia found joy in the simple pleasures of life, including fishing, treasure hunting at yard sales, and cooking. A lifelong fan of Elvis Presley, she also cherished every moment spent with her family, especially her grandchildren.

She is survived by her sons, Larry (Jelena) Smithson of Mt. Pleasant, Tennessee, Andrew Smithson of Columbia, Tennessee, and grandchildren, Ryan Smithson of Mt. Pleasant, Tennessee and Kera Smithson of Mt. Pleasant, Tennessee. 

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Mary Lee Fitzgerald, Martha Frances Wade, Elizabeth Estes, Linda Scott, and brothers, Lewis McCullom and Sonny McCullom.

A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, February 22, 2025, from 1:00 – 3:00 PM in the Hunter Room at Heritage Funeral Home. If anyone has pictures with or of her and would like to share please feel free to bring it to the celebration of life to share with the family and friends.
