Patsy Lynn Potts

Patsy Lynn Potts, age 74, a resident of Summertown, passed away Friday, April 30, 2021 at her residence.

Better known as “Nanny” to many, Patsy was born on October 3, 1946 in Maury County and was the daughter of the late Howard Brown and the late Verna Mae Johnson Brown. Besides her work as a homemaker, she spent her time throughout the years raising many children. An avid reader, she also enjoyed playing BINGO, working crossword puzzles, going to casinos, and fishing.  Patsy loved her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was of the Baptist faith.

She is survived by her children: Angela Morton of Summertown, Timothy Potts of Summertown, Jennifer (Timmy) Massie of Columbia, Michael Goats of Summertown; brother, Larry (Dianne) Brown of Ethridge, Darrell (Brenda) Brown of Columbia; sister, Judy Shouse of Santa Fe, Sandra (Danny) Clark of Williamsport; grandchildren: Julie Potts, Jesse James, Nichols Potts, Justin (Makayla) Morton, Jennie Morton (Ben) Smith, Anthony (Ciara Cates) James, Emily James, Landon Potts, Miranda Goats, Will Goats; great grandchildren: Zaylee Morton, Braehlyn James, Kason James, Sawyer Svetkovich; baby girl James on the way; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son in law, Charles “Eddie” Morton.

It was Patsy’s wish to have no public services. Heritage Funeral Home in Columbia is assisting the family with arrangements.
