Mrs. Paula Marie Cox, age 49, wife of David Cox, and a resident of Lewisburg, passed away Tuesday, September 7, 2021, at St. Thomas West Hospital.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, September 12, 2021, at 3:30 PM at Caney Spring Baptist Church in Chapel Hill with Tony Anderson officiating. A visitation will also be held on Sunday from 1:30 – 3:30 PM at the church. Heritage Funeral Home in Columbia is assisting the family with arrangements.
Paula was born on May 10, 1972, in Nashville and was the daughter of Paul Howard Hollandsworth and Brenda Witcher Vea. She was a 1991 graduate of Forrest School in Chapel Hill and married David Cox on April 16, 1997. She was very skilled at many crafts including jewelry making, crocheting, cross stitching, and woodworking. Paula was one of the founding members of Caney Spring Baptist Church.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her parents, Paul Howard (Juantia C.) Hollandsworth and Brenda Witcher (Bob) Vea, son, David Lee Collins of Lewisburg, daughter, Alisha Marie (Jackie) Seagroves of Chapel Hill, stepdaughter, Annie Grace Cox of Lawrenceburg, sister, Leanne (Clint) Hammons of Lewisburg, step siblings, Doug (Crystal) Wilkes of Unionville, Michael Davenport of Murfreesboro, Angela (Chad) McRae of Greenbrier, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Elizabeth Marie Hollandsworth, and grandparents, Jessie Witcher, Ed & Lomo Craddock, and Howard & Gladys Hollandsworth.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the Paula Cox Fund at Caney Spring Baptist Church, 1444 Highway 99, Chapel Hill, TN 37034.
