Pete Boatright

July 2, 1946 — September 21, 2018

Raymond “Pete” Boatright, age 72, resident of Carters Creek Pike, passed away Friday, September 21, 2018 at NHC- Maury Regional Transitional Care Center.

A funeral service will be held on Monday September 24, 2018 at 11AM at Heritage Funeral Home with Jim Selbe and Steve Gunnels officiating. Burial will follow in Hardison Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Sunday September 23rd from 4-7 PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Born on July 2, 1946 in Columbia, Pete was the son of the late Raymond Lee Boatright and the late Evelyn Pigg Boatright. He was a graduate of Spring Hill High School, attended Columbia State and received a B.S. in Education from MTSU. In his early years, Pete played softball with various teams around Columbia. He was also a dedicated fan of Spring Hill Raiders football, baseball and basketball teams. Along with being an avid sports fan, he also loved fishing and playing cards. He sold insurance for many years for several different companies. Pete was a National Guardsman and was involved with the Maury County Senior Citizens and Bethesda Senior Citizens. He was a longtime member of Beech Grove Church of Christ. Pete and his wife, Lennie Faulkner Boatright, had just celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on August 30th.

In addition to his loving wife Lennie Boatright, he is survived by his sons: Terry Boatright and Brian (Thinley Dolma) Boatright, both of Columbia; nephew: Shane Reeves; niece: Marsha Saalfeld of Murfreesboro, cousins: Sandy Sewell and Ronnie Dark.

Along with his parents, Pete was preceded in death by his sister: Carolyn Boatright Reeves; and uncle: John W. Pigg.

Pallbearers will be Larry Stanfill, Jerry Faulkner, James Faulkner, Allen Faulkner, Joe Faulkner, Gary Boatright and Shane Reeves. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jerry & Penny Smithson, Calvin & Addie B. Scott, the Boatright cousins, the members of Beech Grove Church of Christ, and his many friends at Maury County Senior Center and the Bethesda Senior Center.
