Peter Dorn Hayes, Jr.

Mr. Peter “Pete” Dorn Hayes, Jr., age 35, husband of Teresa Hayes, and a resident of Santa Fe, passed away Wednesday, June 19, 2019 at Centennial Medical Center.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, June 24, 2019 at 2PM at Heritage Funeral Home with Derek Hunter and William Thorn officiating. Military honors will be provided by the United States Navy. A visitation will also be held on Monday from 12-2PM at the funeral home. He will be laid to rest in Maury Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Born on October 19, 1983 in Toledo, Ohio, Pete was the son of Peter & Cindy Hayes, Sr. He and his family moved to Tennessee in 1990. He was a 2002 graduate of Columbia Central High School where he was involved in the ROTC. Shortly after graduation, he enlisted in the Navy and served two years. Later, he got his CDL license and drove over the road for over ten years. Pete met Teresa Novosad in 2015 and they married on October 23, 2016. He enjoyed playing baseball and was an avid University of Michigan fan. Pete enjoyed fishing and skeet shooting with his father. He was a Harley Davidson fanatic and loved any holiday that involved candy!

In addition to his wife and parents, he is survived by his mother in law, Thelma Reynolds; sister in law, Julie (Nicholas) Belt; niece, Alexus Belt; nephew, Cainan Belt; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Webster & Ruth Thorn; and paternal grandparents, William & Agnes Hayes.
