Phyllis Singleton

Phyllis Ann Singleton, age 79, a resident of Columbia, passed away Tuesday, February 25, 2025, at her residence.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, February 28, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Maury Memorial Gardens Mausoleum Chapel with Ryan Tatham officiating. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. 

Phyllis was born on January 22, 1946, in Pikeville, Kentucky and was the daughter of the late Ermel and Nellie Meade. She celebrated forty-eight years of marriage with her late husband Michael Singleton. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren brought her the most joy. She enjoyed being outdoors working in her yard, gardening, her dogs, crafting with the ladies of her church, and window shopping with her granddaughter, Hailey She retired from General Motors. Phyllis will be missed tremendously by all who knew and loved her. 

She is survived by her daughter Cristle Singleton, brother, Randall Singleton, sisters, Mary-Lou Bentley O’Brien, Candy Meade, grandchildren, Hailey (Ovondo) Poindexter, Chase Singleton, Donald W. Justice, great grandchildren, Audrey Poindexter and Avani Singleton. 

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Donald G. Justice, brothers, Johnny Meade, Eddie Meade, Bill Meade, and Bruce Meade. 

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
