Mamie Rachel Quirk Truman, age 84, resident of Raleigh Beard Road in Santa Fe, passed away Thursday, September 16, 2021, at Life Care Center in Columbia.
A private graveside service will be held on Saturday, September 18 th at 3:00 PM at Adkison Cemetery in Santa Fe. The family will visit at the cemetery. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
A native of Maury County, Rachel was born January 18, 1937, and was the daughter of the late John David Quirk and the late Jessie Ellen Dial Quirk. She was a member of the House of Prayer Baptist Church. She was a graduate of Santa Fe High School. She was an avid animal lover and enjoyed reading. She also enjoyed attending Gospel Singings with her sister Marjorie.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her daughter Kathy Johnson of Bethel; grandchildren, Marlana (Lance) Rainey of Columbia and Mark Christopher Johnson of Santa Fe; one niece, Debbie (Keith) Baker of Santa Fe; two nephews, Clyde (Louise) Quirk of Theta and Robert “Kenny” (Annette) Johnson of Kempner, TX; and several great nephews and nieces.
Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Marjorie Lee Daley; son in law, Rick Johnson; sisters, Marjorie Quirk Toy and Bessie Lee Quirk Taylor; brother, Billy Quirk; nephew, Willard Taylor; niece, Diane Boone; and great nephews, Sgt. 1 st Class Jamie T. Boone and Adam Quirk.
Family will serve as pallbearers.
Memorial donations may be made to the Adkison Cemetery, 2332 Arthur Hutcherson Road, Columbia, TN 38401.
