Randel Eugene Dick, age 69, a resident of Columbia, passed away Friday, September 2, 2022, at his residence.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, September 9, 2022, at 12:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens. A visitation will be held on Thursday, September 8, 2022, from 4:00 – 7:00 PM and again on Friday from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Born on July 4, 1953, in Columbia, Randel was the son of the late Eulis Edward Dick and the late Chloe Leona Lanius Dick. He was a 1971 graduate of Spring Hill High School and worked many years in shipping and receiving for Ellsworth Systems, LLC before retiring. He later worked part time for Home Depot in Spring Hill. Even in retirement, he would rise early before the sun rose to watch the news and have coffee. In between Westerns and old sitcoms, he would tinker with one project or another from morning to noon when he would come in to enjoy some iced tea and rest from the heat or cold only to return to work before the evening. Then he would kick back in his recliner to enjoy some rest before he rose the next day to begin the hard work again.

He is survived by his children, Joseph Eugene Dick of Columbia, TN, Larry Gene (Casey) Brown of Spring Hill, TN, Tammie Leona Walker of Hampshire, TN, Jennifer Haines of North Carolina, brother, Ralph Edward (Tammy) Dick of Mt. Pleasant, TN, sisters, Faye Leona Owens of Columbia, Sandra Ann Wall of Summertown, TN, Janice Doreen Harris of Columbia, TN, Esther Elizabeth Cates of Columbia, TN, and grandchildren, Josh Brown, Dathan Walker, Logan Styers, Alyssa Brown, and Grace Brown.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandson, Damien Brown.

Pallbearers will be Joseph Dick, Larry Brown, Logan Styers, Jerry Lee Cates, Jr., Dakota Warwick, Becky Warwick, Dathan Walker, Josh Brown, and Michael Warwick.
