Rebecca Leann Barnes

Rebecca LeAnn Barnes, age 38, a resident of Columbia, passed away Tuesday, February 1, 2022, at Williamson Medical Center.

A funeral service will be held on Sunday, February 6, 2022, at 2:00 PM at Destiny Church with Pastor Steven Morgan officiating. Burial will follow in Deerfield Baptist Church Cemetery in Lawrenceburg. A visitation will be held on Saturday, February 5, 2022, from 4:00 – 8:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Born on May 3, 1983, in Lawrenceburg, LeAnn was the daughter of Cynthia Sue Cox Smith and J.W. Smith. She was a 2001 graduate of Santa Fe High School and earned her business degree from Middle Tennessee State University. She worked for Nissan of Cool Springs for eleven years. LeAnn was an active and devoted member of Destiny Church. She was an avid Tennessee Vols fan and loved music. She had a big heart for everybody, but above all, she loved her daughter, Ruby, unconditionally. LeAnn will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by her five-year-old daughter, Ruby Lillian Barnes, siblings, Michael L. (Melissa) Lumpkins of Columbia, TN, Brandy (Jason) Morrissey of Denton, TX, Jeff (Cherri) Smith of Sparta, TN, Jonathan Smith of Columbia, TN, nieces, Samantha (Jon) Wark, Brianna Lumpkins, Kiersten Morrissey, Alexis Smith, Sara Smith, Jada Smith, Addyson Smith, nephews, Cody Toungett, Ian Morrissey, Riley Smith, Tucker Smith, Finn Smith, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Gregory Keith Smith, and grandparents, Edward & Lillian Smith.

Pallbearers will be Lee Thigpen, Lyndon Smith, Troy Bennett, Austin Bennett, Zach Harrison, and Alex Harrison. Honorary pallbearers will include the members of Destiny Church and the employees of Nissan at Cool Springs.

In lieu of flowers, an account has been set up for Ruby Lillian Barnes at First Farmers and Merchants Bank.
