Rethia Marie Ward Pennington

Rethia Marie Ward Pennington, age 35, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, November 29, 2022, in Alma, Georgia.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 7 ^th at 11:00 AM at Heritage Funeral Home with Rick Points and Watson Jones officiating.  Burial will follow in Maury Memorial Garden with military honors provided by the United States Army.   The family will visit with friends on Tuesday, December 6 ^th from 4:00 – 7:00 PM at the funeral home.  Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Rethia was born March 2, 1987 in Maury County and was the daughter of James Ward and Marlene Fernandez Ward.  She served our country in the United States Army and was of the Christian faith. She played clarinet in the school band at E.A. Cox and at Central High School.  She also had a beautiful voice and liked to sing.  Some of her hobbies included fishing and playing softball.  Rethia and her husband Daniel had such a beautiful love for each other.  Most of all she loved spending time with her family, especially her nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents she is survived by her loving husband, Daniel Pennington of FL; children, Jasper Pennington, Madalyne Pigg, and Abygail Mason; brothers, James David (Valerie) Ward and James Raymond Ward, both of Lewisburg, TN; sister, Naomi Ward; nieces, Emma Ward of Lewisburg, Rachel (Dalton) Tilghman of Santa Fe, Allison (Chase) Karaczewski of Spring Hill, Carmen Ward of Lewisburg; and nephews, Sean (Skylar) Poarch and James Laken Ward, both of Lewisburg.

Pallbearers will be Evans Gunter, Rusty West, James Laken Ward, Lane McCracken, Daren Cates, Zack Ward, Austin Brown, and Jimmy Parrish.
