Reynolds "Bud" Luther

Mr. Reynolds “Bud” Luther, age 90, husband of Genevie Luther, and a resident of Lynnville, passed away Wednesday, April 3, 2019 at Life Care Center of Columbia.

A funeral service will be held on Sunday at 2PM at Heritage Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Thomas officiating. A visitation will be held on Saturday from 4-7PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Born on September 16, 1928 in Black Water, Missouri, Bud was the son of the late Joseph Russell Rathbun and the late Mary White Rathbun. He married Genevie Kurtz on October 23, 1965. Bud worked as a custodian at R.P. Williams and Company for many years. He was a member of Pentecostal Church of Christ, and at one time, he served as a Deacon at the Faith Pentecostal Church in Columbia. He was a past Master Mason and Shriner until his health failed him. Bud especially loved his family and going to church.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children: Timothy (Libby) Luther of Columbia, Lisa (Mike) Helton of Lynnville, Glen (Scharla) Griffith of Florida, Terry (Katie) Griffith of Columbia; Kathy (John) Farr of Missouri, and Debbie Moore of Missouri; grandchildren: Michael (Katie) Luther, Henley Luther, Sean (Kayla) Luther, Gavin Luther, Shelby Luther, Hannah Helton, Logan Helton, Hunter Griffith, Shanya Griffith, Amanda Griffith, Michelle Porter, Monica Major; and several much loved great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

Honorary pallbearers will include: Roy Biddy, George Helton, the members of Pentecostal Church of Christ, and the members of the Columbia Masonic Lodge #31.
