Mrs. Rhonda Faye Bass, age 69, beloved wife of Gary Bass, and a resident of Columbia, Tennessee, passed away on Wednesday, January 29, 2025, at her residence.
A funeral service will be held on Sunday, February 2, 2025, at 1:00 PM at The Lighthouse Church with Pastor Eric Redd officiating. Following the service, she will be laid to rest in Maury Memorial Gardens. A visitation will also be held on Sunday from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM at the church. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Born on December 6, 1955, in Pocahontas, Arkansas, Rhonda was the daughter of the late Elder Charles Edward George and Lavada Lois Butler George. On July 13, 1973, she married the love of her life, Gary Bass, and together they built a beautiful life, raising two children.
For over thirty years, Rhonda and Gary worked side by side in the restaurant industry, most recently as owners and operators of Catfish Campus. A dedicated and hardworking woman, she found joy in her work and in serving others. She loved shopping and taking trips with her girlfriends, always embracing life with a generous and giving spirit. However, her greatest joy was found in her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, whom she cherished dearly. A devoted member of The Lighthouse Church in Columbia, her faith was the foundation of her life.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son, Jason (Tabitha) Bass of Columbia, TN, daughter, Janece (Anthony) Ball of Illinois, brothers, Mark (Kristie) George of North Carolina, Joel (Monte) George of Nashville, TN, sisters, Annette George of Mississippi, Debra Ryan of Illinois, Sherlyn (Joe) Burnette of Mississippi, Carol McCain of Michigan, Juanetta (Ron) Gobin of Illinois, Angela Redd of Columbia, TN, Lanelda George of Arkansas, Anita (Randy) Huddleston of Arkansas, grandchildren, Javon (Brianna) Bass of Columbia, TN, Miranda (Colin) Hatley of Illinois, Grant Ball of Illinois, Alex (Brianna) Ball of Oklahoma, Jordan (Alexis) Bass of Columbia, TN, Cameryn Bass of Columbia, TN, Caitlyn Bass of Columbia, TN, Kimberlyn Ball of Illinois, great grandchildren, Braylon Bass of Columbia, TN, Ashton Bass of Columbia, TN, Eleanor Hatley of Illinois, Jansen Ball of Oklahoma, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Those proudly serving as pallbearers will be her grandsons, Javon Bass, Grant Ball, Alex Ball, Jordan Bass, Cameryn Bass, and Colin Hatley. Honorary pallbearers will include Dwight Watkins, James Brinkley, Rylan Redd, and the employees of Catfish Campus.
