Richard Allen Hargrove

Mr. Richard Allen Hargrove, age 67, a resident of Chestnut Ridge Road in the Theta Community, died Friday, January 1, 2021 at his residence.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 9, 2021 at 11AM at Heritage Funeral Home with Delbert Ragsdale and Raymond Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Johnson Hollow Cemetery with military honors provided by the United States Army. A visitation will be held on Friday, January 8, 2021 from 4-7PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Born on June 23, 1953 in Williamson County and raised in the Burwood Community, Richard was the son of the late Leslie Lee Hargrove and the late Sarah McCoy Hargrove. He was a veteran of the United States Army. Richard previously worked in HVAC, a painter for many service stations, and was a janitor for Williamson County Public Schools. Richard was a devoted member of Pewitt’s Chapel Freewill Baptist Church where he taught Sunday School.

He is survived by his wife, Vicky Hargrove of 21 years; a loving second dad to: Brandy (Richie) Pruitt AND Kevin (Kristen) Anness both of the Theta Community; siblings: Mary Johnson of Spring Hill, Margaret (Gary) Hardison of Columbia, Rosie Hargrove of Nashville, Bennie (Teresa) Hargrove of Spring Hill, Bob Hargrove of Columbia; numerous nieces and nephews, and an amazing Papa to seventeen grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Billy Johnson.

Pallbearers will be: Kevin Anness, Richie Pruitt, Harley Shelley, Michael Shelley, Kevin “Bubba Duck” Annes, Jr., Jason Johnson, Gary Hardison, Jr., Brian Hardison.

Honorary pallbearers will be: Chris Kent, Christian Pruitt, Drew Pruitt, Gage Pruitt, Jaxson Shelley, Bentley Shelley, Bob Hargrove, and Bennie Hargrove.
