Richard "Rick" A. Ferrell

Richard “Rick” A. Ferrell, age 62, a resident of Columbia, passed away Thursday, December 23, 2021, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 30, 2021, at 1:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home with Allan Shedd officiating. Burial will follow in Maury Memorial Gardens. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 29, 2021, from 4:00 – 7:00 PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Born on January 27, 1959, in Hamlet, North Carolina, Rick was the son of the late Andrew Richard Ferrell and the late Marthel Knight Ferrell Tucker. He served his country in the United States Army and often enjoyed telling stories about his time spent in the military. Rick worked many years for Charter Communications. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, watching Nascar and Tennessee Titans football, and going out to eat with his special friends Chris and Lisa. Above all, Rick loved his children unconditionally; they were his world and he especially loved spending time with them.

He is survived by his sons, Jacob Andrew Ferrell, Richard Ryan Ferrell, step daughter, Justis Lacy, the mother of his children, Frankie Garrett, sisters, Sue Ferrell (Jimmy) Godwin, Vanessa Ferrell (Chip) Dove, nieces and nephews, Pam Pate (Sky) Ingalls, Kyle (Lauren) Dove, Maggie Dove, Allan Shedd, Camden Eubank, Mylisa Shedd, great nephews, Luke Ingalls, Jackson Shedd, aunt, Betty Sue “Dot” Morris, and uncle, Grover Knight.

Pallbearers will be Allan Shedd, Kerry Garrett, Chris Swinford, Frankie Garrett, Justis Lacy, Ryan Ferrell, and Jacob Ferrell.
