Rickey Dewayne Hendley

Rickey Dewayne Hendley, age 71, a resident of Mt. Pleasant, passed away on Sunday, July 14, 2024, at his residence.

Born on September 8, 1952, in Columbia, Rickey was the son of the late Charles Hendley and Clara Marie Barnes Hendley. He proudly served in the United States Navy and spent many dedicated years working at General Electric before retiring. Rickey had a passion for sports, particularly NASCAR, and was a devoted New York Yankees fan. He enjoyed playing solitaire and working crossword puzzles. Above all, Rickey deeply loved his family, especially his children, and he will be profoundly missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his son, Eric (Elizabeth Farrell) Hendley, daughter, Alissa (John) Nolan, sister, Tamatha Lee, grandchildren, Caleb Patterson, Alivia Hollinsworth, Haley Nolan, Ella Nolan, long time companion, Diane Nance, special friend, Hilda Pickard, and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Randall Hendley, Joel Hendley, and sister, Janice McKennon.

The family will honor his memory with private services. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
