Rita Ann Varner

Rita Ann Varner, age 86, a resident of Columbia, passed away on Saturday, June 22, 2024, at her residence.

Born on March 6, 1938, in Forest, Ohio, Rita was the daughter of the late Woodard Humphrey and Edna Baker Humphrey. Known for her kindness, love, and care, Rita's family always came first. She was an avid reader who also found joy in planting flowers and was a member of the Jehovah’s Witnesses.

She is survived by her son, Richard (Lori) Varner, grandson, Eric Varner, sisters, Carol Jean Gigliotti, Susan-Elaine English, Karen Kallestad, Lynn Alzamily, and Miriam Robertson, aunt, Lucille Humphrey, and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Varner, one brother, and two sisters.

There will be no public service. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
