Robert B. Wittig, Sr. of Columbia, Tennessee

Robert ‘Bob’ Burnham Wittig, 84, passed away on Thursday, March 30, 2023, in Life Care Center, Columbia, TN. He was born August 27, 1938, in Lima, Ohio.

Bob was preceded in death by his mother, Ida Catherine Schaffer Wittig, and father, Milton Wittig. He is survived by his wife, Fredna Johnson Wittig; sister, Anna Mae Schultz; sons, Robert, Mark and Danny Wittig; stepchildren, Patricia, Renee and Mark; four grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and two step-grandchildren.

Bob served honorably in the National Guard and made a career as a chemist for Schweppes Dr. Pepper/Seven-Up Beverage Co. He also delivered ‘Meals-on-Wheels’ and served as an usher at Christ Our Saviour Lutheran Church in Columbia. He and Fredna enjoyed traveling and Caribbean cruises.

A private inurnment will be held at a later date in Providence Church Cemetery in Shubuta, Mississippi.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that, if desired, do­nations can be made in his memory to Christ Our Saviour Lutheran Church, 2494 Nashville Highway, Columbia, TN.
