Roberta "Robbie" Jane Little

Roberta “Robbie” Jane Little, age 75, a resident of Ethridge, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday morning, April 29, 2021.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, May 7th at 6:00 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. Roger Reid officiating. A visitation will also be held on Friday from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Born on January 1, 1946 in Washington D.C., but from Peoria, IL, Robbie was the daughter of the late Robert Clark and Eva Louise Reed Gaede. Robbie grew up in Naples, FL helping her parents run their gas station, trailer park, and fishing cabins. After graduating from Jackson Memorial Nursing School, Robbie worked her fifty-year career as a registered nurse including a cardiac nurse for twenty-five years in Ocala, FL and over 10 years at Williamson Medical Center on the surgical floor. After marrying and starting a family, in the 1970’s, Robbie moved to Leander, TX where she helped to run her husband’s construction company and also owned a feed store. In the 1980’s Robbie and her family moved to a farm in Ocala, FL where she resided for 20 years. In 2005 she moved to Ethridge to be closer to her children and grandchildren.  She also worked as a realtor for a short period of time in Middle Tennessee.

Robbie was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Her friends and family meant more to her than anything. Robbie loved to spend time with others, laugh, dance and made lifelong friends in an instant. Her patients adored her and many times stayed in touch with her long after they left the hospital. A lifelong Christian, Robbie always answered God’s call to help the less fortunate and put others first. Robbie showed Quarter Horses and Paint Horses most of her life and shared that passion with her daughter. Her love for fishing came naturally from her parents and growing up just a few miles from the Gulf. She would rather be outdoors than anywhere else and loved all animals, especially her dogs and horses.

She is survived by her life partner of 25 years, Robert “Bob” Prescott of Ethridge; daughter, Jennifer (Mike) Richards of Columbia; grandchildren: Jake Richards, Aiden Little, Austin Tucker; and nieces, Barb (Butch) Arenal and Mindy (Trent) Huelle; and her friend and children’s father, Paul Little of Groveland, FL.

In addition to her parents and aunts and uncles, she was preceded in death by her son, Brad Little; and brother, Robert “Bob” Gaede.

Honorary pallbearers are Bob Prescott, Mike Richards, Jake Richards, Aiden Little, Jim Richards, Paul Little, Steve Little, and Bobby Sleeth.

Memorials can be made in the form of flowers or a donation to your favorite pet or equine rescue in her honor.
