Roger Vaughn Patterson

Mr. Roger Vaughn Patterson, age 42, husband of Jennifer Stokes Patterson, and a resident of Mt. Pleasant, passed away Saturday, August 24, 2019 at Maury Regional Medical Center.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 31, 2019 at 11AM at Heritage Funeral Home with Eddie Bassham and Stephen Kelley officiating. A visitation will also be held on Saturday from 9-11AM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Born on May 30, 1977 on the Hippy Farm in Lewis County, Roger was the son of Gary Dale Patterson and Myrna Salazar Guerrerro. He was a 1995 graduate of Mt. Pleasant High School where he played football. He met Jennifer in 1999 and together they had two children. They got married on February 1, 2003. Roger worked as a truck driver for many years until he got injured and became a stay at home dad. He enjoyed auto mechanic work and training in mixed martial arts. Most of all, he loved spending time with his children. He was of the Catholic faith.

In addition to his wife and parents, he is survived by his children: Ashton Patterson and Bo Patterson; sisters: Sabrina Frassa, Roberta Guerrerro, Martina Guerrerro; mother-in-law: Sherry Stokes; brothers-in-law: Robert (Mechelle) Stokes, William (Crystal) Stokes, James Stokes; very special friends and family: Joe Salazar, Jason Tucker, Jim Tackett, Shane Spresser, Leslie Woodard and Mike Carita; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father-in-law: Van Stokes; grandmomma: Catherine Patterson; and grandmother: Amelia Salazar.
