Roger Allen Slack, age 76, a resident of Columbia, Tennessee, passed away on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, at Maury Regional Medical Center.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 29, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home with Rick Points officiating. Military honors will be provided by the United States Army. A visitation will also be held on Saturday from 1:00 – 2:00 PM at the funeral home.
Born on December 14, 1948, in Canton, Ohio, Roger was the son of the late Earl and Dorothy Lozier Slack. A veteran of the United States Army, he served during the Vietnam War. He dedicated 31 years to Autolite before retiring in 1999. Roger was also a volunteer at Risingsun Police Department in Ohio for several years. He had a passion for golf and was an avid reader. A firearms enthusiast, he enjoyed building guns and reloading ammunition. Roger was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who sacrificed a lot for his family. He was a member of Central Christian Church.
He is survived by his daughters, Stephanie (Jeff) Cappelletty, Angela (James Shannon) Slack, brothers, Robert (Jane) Slack, Richard Slack, sisters, Jean Ann Grabiak, Susan (Kyle) Self, sister in law, Lesa Slack, grandchildren, Miranda (Zachary) Hossler, Amelia Shannon, Ronnie Shannon, and great grandchildren, Hayden Hossler, Ridge Hossler, Phoebe Polston, McKenzie Aviles, Milla Rose Marcrom, Parker Shannon, and Sarai Saber.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Victoria Slack, and brother in law, Larry Grabiak.
