Ronald "Ronnie Wayne" Davidson

March 28, 1952 — June 16, 2020

Mr. Ronald “Ronnie Wayne” Davidson, age 68, husband of Elaine Davidson, and a resident of General Roberts Drive in Columbia, passed away Tuesday, June 16, 2020.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, June 24, 2020 at 2:00 PM at Polk Memorial Gardens with Keith Baker officiating. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

A native of Maury County, Ronnie Wayne was the son of Mary Bell Sharp Davidson and the late John Owen Davidson. He was a 1970 graduate of Hampshire High School and worked thirty-two years at Union Carbide before retiring in 2006. He married Elaine Haley in 1974 and together they had one son, Jeremy Davidson. He loved playing poker and also enjoyed fishing. Ronnie Wayne was of the Baptist faith.

In addition to his wife, mother and son, he is survived by his brothers: Roger Davidson, Denny Davidson, and Greg Davidson all of Hampshire; nieces and nephews: Monica Depriest, Ben Davidson, Blake Davidson, Brandon Davidson, Theresa Lynn Davidson, Kimberly Davidson; and beloved dog, Ese.

Along with his father, he was preceded in death by his brothers: Randy and Johnny Davidson.

Pallbearers will be: Donnie Joe Cothran, Shane Adkisson, Reed Poling, T.J. Brown, Ed “Turtle” Lee, and Danny Gasca. Honorary pallbearers will include: his poker family and members of Fraser’s Place.
