Ronald David Vann, II, age 42, of Durham, North Carolina, passed away unexpectedly but peacefully in his sleep on Wednesday, September 21, 2022.
A native of Columbia, Tennessee, David was a hunting and fishing enthusiast and loved the outdoors. He had a knack for rebuilding car engines and helped to repair the vehicles of friends and family. A lifelong student, David had a passion for science and attended Middle Tennessee State University, Victor Valley College, University of California- Riverside, and Loma Linda University. He spent many happy hours reading encyclopedias and sharing interesting facts. David was a friend to many, often striking up conversations with strangers. He created a circle of friends anywhere he went. David worked as an analytical chemist and never gave up on his passion to pursue medicine.
Survivors include his wife, Audra Vann; stepson, Alexander; mother, JoAnne Frazier Vann; father, Ronald David (Renee) Vann, sisters, April (Jim) Grippo, Elizabeth Vann (Albie) Esparza, grandmother, Mary Frazier, nieces, Lia Grippo, Ava Vann, Sara Grippo, and Maria Grippo, nephews, Jack Grippo and Vann Esparza, step sisters, Heather (Cliff) Millikan, Holly (Jason) Sperker, Hope (Trenton) Andrews, lots of cousins, and uncles. He will be particularly missed by his special niece, Ava Vann. David was preceded in death by his grandfather, James Frazier, grandmother, Betty Ruth Vann, aunts, Linda Stoltz, Darin Frazier, and Nobuki Frazier.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, November 5, 2022, at 11:00 AM at Maury Memorial Gardens with Rick Points officiating.
