Ruby Jean Malugin, age 80, wife of Lesley Malugin, and a resident of Columbia, passed away Tuesday, July 28, 2020 at Magnolia Healthcare.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, July 31, 2020 at 12PM at Heritage Funeral Home with Rick Points and Keith Baker officiating. Burial will follow in Potts Cemetery. A visitation will also be held on Friday from 11AM-12PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
A native of Maury County, Ruby was born on November 3, 1939 and was the daughter of the late Horace Potts and the late Icie Byrd Potts. She previously worked for Dixie Manufacturing and besides her work as a homemaker, she also helped local farmers with stripping tobacco. She loved working in her yard and tending to her flowers and years ago, she and her husband enjoyed raising mules. Ruby was a loving and devoted wife and mother. She attended Jackson Heights Church of Christ.
In addition to her husband of 55 years, she is survived by her son, Stacey Malugin of Columbia; brother, Larry Potts of Culleoka; sisters: Mary Jones, Mable Goodwin, Beatrice (Jimmy) Duvall, Barbara (Guerry) Cole, Ivy Parr all of Columbia; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers: G.C. Potts, Buster Potts, and Wesley Potts.
Mrs. Malugin’s family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
