Ruby Jo Shamblin

Mrs. Ruby Jo Hood Shamblin, 94 of Columbia, Tennessee, native of Chattooga County, Georgia, Teloga Community, passed away Monday, November 21, 2022, at NHC Maury Regional Transitional Care Center in Columbia, Tennessee.

She was born on July 18, 1928 and was the daughter of the late Henry Benjamin and Jean Bale Pursley Hood. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. Shamblin, Sr., daughter, Janet Shamblin Brown, son, Robert L. Shamblin, Jr., along with sister, Edna Jean Griffith and brother, Harold B. Hood.

Jo was a dental hygienist for a number of years and was a very skilled potter, creating beautiful varieties of clay pots and other arts.

Survivors include nephews, Doug Shamblin, Sr. (Guardian/Conservator), Joe David Shamblin, Johnny Shamblin, Kenneth Shamblin, Mark Griffith, and niece, Nancy Shamblin Hunt.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Heritage Funeral Home in Columbia, Tennessee is assisting the family with arrangements.
