Ruby J. Thompson, age 75, a resident of Columbia, passed away Wednesday, December 11, 2019 at Maury Regional Medical Center.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 14, 2019 at 11AM at Heritage Funeral Home with Rick Points officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens. A visitation will be held on Friday, December 13, 2019 from 4-7PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Born on March 11, 1944 in Maury County, Ruby was the daughter of the late Ellis Walker Stewart and the late Carrie Brumley Stewart. In her younger years, she worked as a nurse and later owned and operated The Coral Bar & Grill in Columbia for many years. She was an all-around likable and sociable person who enjoyed playing Bingo, going to Tunica and drinking her coffee. She was an honest woman, a great cook, and always kept a clean house. Above all, she loved her three sons and raised her grandchildren like her own.
She is survived by her sons: Jackie Frost of Lawrenceburg, Terry Frost of Hampshire, Billy Frost of Southport; grandchildren: Chasity Kelley (Dakota Lunsford), Natasha Frost (RaeQuan Armstrong), Terry Kelley, Jessica Hight, Jenny Frost, Kerrie Frost, Jasmine Frost, Thomas Frost, Nathan Hicks; several great grandchildren; and very special niece, Brenda (Donald) Lovely of Culleoka.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by thirteen brothers and sisters.
Pallbearers will be: Dakota Lunsford, RaeQuan Armstrong, Ronnie Martin, Jason Bolton, Terry Frost, and Donald Collins.
